Chatzimichalis Estate uses the ancient Greek term "chora" to describe what the French call terroir. The soil, elevation, slope, orientation, microclimate, age of the grape variety all contribute to the uniqueness of each vineyard.
The Estate has chosen to serve a unique ecosystem in the Atalanti Valley, defined north by Mount Knimis, south by Mount Chlomo, west by Mount Parnassos, and east by the North Euboean Gulf. A key natural feature of this ecosystem is the cool air streams created from Parnassos to the sea and vice versa, winter-summer.
