Hatzimichalis Estate’s Alargino Merlot is a dry red wine made from 100% Merlot grapes grown in a selected vineyard site at Zygos, in the Atalanti Valley. The vineyard lies at an altitude of 320–350 m, is over 20 years old, and has a low yield of 350 kg per 1,000 m². The wine is made using the classic red winemaking method, then aged for 12 months in new 228 lt French oak barrels and for a further 12 months in the bottle in the estate’s underground cellars.
