However, this is not the case at the Lee family’s table on Christmas Eve, where the magic of the holidays is intertwined with mystery and tension. Here, dark thoughts and hidden truths permeate the air, creating a different atmosphere from the one we usually encounter during the holidays.
'Hercule Poirot's Christmas' is a work of detective fiction by British author Agatha Christie, first published on December 19, 1938. With Hercule Poirot once again at the heart of the crime on Christmas Eve, trying to find the solution to this case as well.

It's Christmas Eve and the entire Li family has gathered at the Li mansion, even members who have been lost for years, to spend the festive days together. After dinner, however, instead of songs and wishes, a crash is heard from the room of the elderly Simeon Li, as furniture is overturned and, in the end, a haunting cry of anguish and pain. The patriarch of the family lies dead in an inexplicably large pool of blood, while the door to the room is locked from the inside.
Hercule Poirot, who is in the area as a guest of the police director, offers to help solve the mystery. Instead of finding the shocked relatives mourning the loss of their own loved one, he finds them looking at each other with suspicion, ready to accuse one another. It will soon be revealed that each of them had their own reasons to hate the tyrannical old Simeon.
