Description

The history of Tenuta Mara is relatively short compared to that of other estates in Emilia-Romagna. The commitment, passion, and research applied to viticulture have managed to establish it as one of the most interesting realities in the entire region from the beginning. When founded, the company set the ambitious goal of working as naturally as possible, applying the principles of organic and sustainable viticulture, for a bold product full of character that can better express the unique and particular characteristics of the land.

The vineyards, planted with Sangiovese from meticulous local selections, are tended according to biodynamic principles and followed step by step, respecting the delicate balance of the soil and the microclimate of the surroundings. A continuous and painstaking effort, however, that bears fruit.

  • 100% Sangiovese.

  • The alcoholic fermentation occurs in large oak barrels and lasts for 1½ months without controlled temperatures.
  • Aging on the lees for 15 months in French oak barrels.
  • After bottling, it undergoes bottle aging for 12 months.
