When, with the outbreak of World War I, the resourceful Max Oppenheim submitted the Memorandum for the revolutionization of the Islamic territories of our enemies, the German political and military elites were thrilled with the idea of a holy war to be declared by the allied Ottoman Empire, causing a widespread Muslim uprising in the colonies of the Anglo-French and in Tsarist Russia. In the next world war, Hitler was vehemently against the policy of his predecessor, Kaiser, convinced that the Middle East would fall like a ripe fruit into German hands after being encircled by the Wehrmacht. Neither of them ultimately reached where they dreamed of.

However, could things have developed differently in the relations of the two German empires with the Near East? In other words, what would have happened if the jihad "made in Germany" fulfilled its main objectives, as described in Oppenheim's memoranda? Was the loss of control in the colonies enough to lead to the shortening of the war, and the Anglo-French to the negotiating table to sign their own "dictated" peace treaty? Similarly, would National Socialist Germany have managed to change the course of the war if Hitler had stopped, even temporarily, thinking in racial terms and saw in the faces of the Arabs more "political friends" than "racial enemies"?
