Thanasis Papaioannou is one of the first producers to promote the idea that wine should retain its unique characteristics, derived from the variety, vineyard location, as well as the processes of the viticulturist - producer for a biological balance.

He owns a large private vineyard in various areas of Nemea, cultivating in each location the vine variety that fits perfectly. His son, Giorgos, a chemist - oenologist, continues the tradition and works creatively in the privately-owned vineyards and the modern winery in Ancient Nemea.

The goal of both is the continuous improvement of the produced wines, maintaining high standards of hygiene and organoleptic characters, as well as experimenting with new types of wines.

  • Size of privately-owned vineyard: 570 acres.
  • Dispersion of vineyard plots in areas with differences in the ecosystem.
  • Age of vines leading to a multifaceted result.
  • Proper selection of varieties and deep knowledge of producers regarding vine cultivation.
