This collective volume is dedicated to the multifaceted, rich, and significant contribution of Emeritus Professor Koula Kasimati in the field of social sciences.

Colleagues from various stages of her long academic career, peers, students, and friends honor Koula Kasimati with the texts that make up this volume, both for her contribution to research and teaching in the field of Sociology and Social Policy and for the valuable legacy of academic values that stems from her overall presence in the academic (and public) life.

The texts included in the volume primarily relate to the thematic areas that characterize Koula Kasimati's long-term research and writing activity. The main thematic sections focus on issues of knowledge in the field of social sciences, empirical investigations of income inequality, social stratification, social mobility, and social development, approaches to specific areas of social policy, as well as issues of migration and national minorities.
