In 2009, the study by Louis Coutel titled On the Poetic Formation of Dionysios Solomos (1815-1833) was published by the Benaki Museum editions. The first version of this work, in the French language (Formation poetique de Solomos [1815-1833]), had been released by the Hermes editions about thirty years earlier (Athens 1977).
The Greek edition of the book, a revised version of the earlier translation by Socrates Kapsaskis, aimed to make the fundamental work of the French philologist accessible to the broader public, a work that opened new horizons for understanding the poet, fueling new research and redirecting research directions in the following decades.
