Description

Newer and older texts have been rearranged to form the present volume. From the outset, they aimed, as has been subsequently established, at aspects of human subjectivity; at least some of those which can be retrieved by a linguistic tweezer and developed by the skill of its operator.

With the last - and heaviest - reservation in mind, our collection invites a challenging endeavor. Its starting point is the expansion of subjectivity in its more typical linguistic field, the scientific [:to stand] tropicality; and its endpoint is a preliminary attempt at the visualization of its typical versions. However, the interest will lie, as it should, in the journey itself.

In the intermediate, sometimes unexpected, destinations of an increasingly marginal search for subjectivity: in the subjunctive and the negation; in the so-called paradox to; in the grammatical category perfect, in the pronoun that and the well-known from school syntax possessive genitive; in the contrastive-oppositional connectives, from nevertheless and although to but and however and finally, in a bold thought about the metonymic relation of the future of language with the future of the community in Cavafy's poem Waiting for the Barbarians.
