Giannis Veloudis

Giannis Veloudis was born in Thessaloniki in 1951. He studied philology (specializing in linguistics) at the then-unified Faculty of Philosophy of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) with a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY). He continued his studies in England at the University of Essex (master's degree in theoretical linguistics) and at the University of Reading (doctoral dissertation), always with financial support from IKY. Since 1997, he has been teaching semantics at the Faculty of Philosophy and, since its establishment, in the Department of Linguistics of the Department of Philology at AUTH.
