The Michailidis Estate is located in Agios Athanasios of Drama, a fertile area neighboring the ancient Philippi, where archaeological findings testify to the cultivation of the vine.
The history of wine production in the area begins in 1924, when Kostas Semertzidis, grandfather of the winemaker Iordanis Michailidis, came as a refugee from Asia Minor and established production in Kyrgia of Drama.
The third generation, represented by Iordanis Michailidis, took over in 2004, aiming to create a state-of-the-art winery and produce quality wines that combine modern winemaking techniques with local traditions.
