- When the temperature is low, there is a possibility that plasti dip® will not spray evenly due to freezing. The best thing we could do is to place the spray in warm water for 5-10 minutes or heat it with a heater. This results in the mixture softening internally and achieving the smooth result we want.
- Before painting a car or motorcycle with plasti dip®, it would be good not to have applied any polish or wax previously, as there is a possibility that plasti dip® cannot be applied correctly.
- Never paint a car or motorcycle if it has been previously painted with factory paint. It should have been at least a year to avoid problems with the varnish.
- When we want to create a stripe on a surface to achieve a straight line, we should remove the tape on the sixth "hand" (enough to have a good result) while the plasti dip® is still wet. This is because plasti dip® has the property of re-liquifying when it falls on an already painted surface. Otherwise, if we remove the tape when it dries, it will ruin the straight line we have created.
- When spraying, always hold the spray or gun in a vertical position in relation to the surface. The distance should be 10-15 cm.
- It would be good to spray in an area where there is no wind, as there is a possibility that the air will carry the material and dry the mist in a place we do not want. This results in the surface in that area not being smooth, but having the texture of sandpaper.
- Always clean the surface well before painting and make sure there is no moisture in the various crevices.
- In periods of low temperatures, each "hand" needs more time to dry.
- You can wash your car or motorcycle 10 days later without fear, even with a pressure washer. In the beginning, you should be a little more careful. As the days go by, plasti dip® becomes very strong. We recommend applying the special Dip Protect wax approximately every one and a half months.
- The ratio of thick plasti dip® to solvent in order to spray with a gun is 1:1. There is also the thinned plasti dip® spray, which has a much better composition, coverage, and resistance and can be sprayed directly.
- In order to spray plasti dip® correctly, the paint gun should have a 1.5-2mm nozzle, the pressure should be low (1.5-2 bar), it should be able to spray in a vertical open vent, and the quantity should be adjustable because the first "hand" should be soft to create a base (covering about 50%). The remaining 6 "hands" should be rich.
- At least 6 good "hands" should be applied, especially when dealing with large surfaces such as a car, so that it can be removed in large pieces without difficulty when desired.
- Never wash with active foam commonly used in car washes. Use only plain soap.
- Be careful with gasoline. Contact with plasti dip® can fade it. It is good to inform the employees at gas stations.
- High Gloss Top Coat: Apply 3 good "hands" for the ideal result. Allow approximately 30 minutes between each "hand". The pass with the gun should be done quickly to avoid running.
The Plasti dip is a liquid rubber in spray form. Its uses are endless. It seals, insulates, provides color, and protects the car and motorcycle. It is non-slip and surface enhancer, insulates cables and tubes. It protects against corrosion, offers dielectric coating, and has many other applications!
The revolution in car painting! You can paint everything from your rims to your entire car as long as you clean the surface first. No sanding required. If you get tired of it, simply remove it without damaging the car's original color! It withstands pressure washing and only comes off if you want it to!
Renew your car easily and quickly!
