The best way for me, if you want to install it in concrete, is with chemical anchoring. The screws and plugs they provide, at least for me, are not even worth the effort of installing in concrete.
We spent 2 months trying to install it with the plugs it comes with, but it would not sit properly and it was "wobbling." At some point I was afraid we might somehow completely damage the wall from all the effort. Since it is also a piece of exercise equipment, it absolutely has to be stable and sturdy. If the screws move even a little, do not attempt to use it. I believe that with a chemical anchor you will save yourself a lot of trouble, plus it is much sturdier even than the instructions suggest. We used the Dan Braven chemical anchor (it is an orange bottle) and bought M8 threaded rods from Fischer, which already come with the nuts inside, from Leroy Merlin, and that is how we did it. We used a 12 mm drill bit and cleaned the hole VERY well before putting the chemical in.
It is an excellent piece of equipment and absolutely sturdy.
Look online as well for how to do chemical anchoring and what you will need, because it is worth it!!
We needed the following:
A cylindrical brush (for cleaning the holes)
A blower (also for cleaning the holes)
A silicone gun
The Dan Braven chemical anchor
M8 threaded rods
A metal saw (to cut the threaded rods).
The pull-up bar is of excellent quality and inspires confidence when it has been installed correctly! In the picture it seems like I only made 4 holes, but later I made all 8 properly and also installed the other two hooks below.
I have had the pull-up/dip bar for 2 years now and it has not disappointed me at all. It is absolutely stable both in the pull-up and dip positions. It is very high quality, both the machine itself and the screws, wall plugs, etc. that come with it. It inspires complete confidence. Overall, for its price, it is totally worth it, as long as you have space on your wall to install it. You can get a full workout with it! I also attach resistance bands and TRX to it and I am completely satisfied.
Personally, I am 1.83m and 75kg and I use it comfortably. Other people, even heavier (up to 85kg), have used it and there was no issue, nor any fear. I believe it can handle even more weight with ease.
The only slightly uncomfortable thing is the back cushion for ab exercises, which for me has a slightly odd angle and is a bit uncomfortable. But I don't think that's a reason not to buy it, because it still does the job just fine.
Just make sure to tighten the screws well so that the wall plugs hold in the wall, otherwise there is a risk that the screws and plugs will come out together. I mention this because I almost had it happen... but then I tightened the screws fully and of course it doesn't move at all. Also, you need a 12mm drill bit and a total of 8 holes.
Truly high-quality construction and a “heavy” feel (9kg), it shows that it is not a toy. The dimensions are as described (55×98×80 cm) and with proper installation it remains very stable. The load limit up to 200kg gives you confidence, and the overall feel is well-crafted (finish/durability). I highly recommend it, just measure your space and mount it on a sturdy wall with the proper mounting materials.
I found some flaws in its construction...
I spoke with the retailer and he was willing either to refund me and give me my money back, or to speak with Viking and he said that I could also speak directly with them.
I preferred the latter.
I spoke with Viking, I sent them an email with a description of the problems and photos and I waited for their response...
...45 minutes later they called me and asked me to send it back to them with their own shipping charge. They acknowledged the issue of the off-center holes as they saw them from the photos I sent them via email.
I had written a highly negative review about Viking, which I withdrew after they showed immediate interest and were polite even in their response to this review.
The inconvenience and frustration for this inaccuracy do not disappear, but behind this brand there are people who truly care about their work.
It is certain that in case another customer of theirs happens to buy a product with a flaw, the problem will be resolved in the best possible way.
Their reaction restored my trust in this brand.
I am waiting for the replacement product for further evaluation and adjustment of its rating...
I received it. I set it up. I use it. It does the job perfectly for which I wanted it.
I weigh 75 kilograms. In pulls, dives, and leg lifts, it is quiet, sturdy, and inspires confidence.
It is sturdy and does not creak. The included German keys are disposable. I did not use the metal hooks with the screws, but my own screwdrivers. I am satisfied with the materials and the cushions, which seem to be of good quality. Viking has good and reliable tools. I have adjusted it so that even my 10-year-old son can use it. I have placed a rubber mat where the exercise is done to absorb shocks. I recommend it
It is very good, but the only downside is that the keys it comes with to assemble it are fake. Mine broke. You need to have your own. Other than that, it is a very good construction and exercises the whole body.
It is a very sturdy and beautiful construction. It seems to withstand but I have only had it for a few days. The only problem is the installation, it does not have any instructions except for a leaflet that tells you what it contains. It requires a lot of attention with the wall brackets
