Description

In late June 1967, the "Democratic National Resistance Movement" was founded by individuals primarily from the Democratic Associations, including the author Sp. Anastasidis. The latter, along with A. Kaklamanis, took on the construction and operation of the radio station.

Starting in October 1967, arrests of members began. Sp. Anastasidis was arrested in November. After 40 days of detention at the General Security and following an unsuccessful interrogation by Babalis and Mallios, he was transferred to the Tripoli prison, where he met several of his comrades. He was released in January 1968.

Meanwhile, the resistance organization "Free Greeks" (E.E.) was formed. In March 1969, the groups of Gr. Ypsilantis and Sp. Anastasidis collaborated with the E.E. However, by August, among the dozens of arrested individuals were the aforementioned. The author was taken to EAT-ESA. Despite 200 hours of standing, he refused to speak.

Even when the interrogation took place, in the presence of Theofilogiannakos and Chatzizisis (known torturers), he revealed nothing significant. After spending about seven months in an isolated and dark room of a requisitioned hotel in the Drosia area, on April 12, 1970, he was exiled to Kythira. There, from the very first moment, he studied his escape, which, however, would fail.

Thus, a new relocation was decided the next month, to Kerasochori in Evrytania, where he would stay for about a year. Due to his own refusal and at his own urging, the junta was forced to abolish the attendance book of the exiles. This very "initiative" of his resulted in an extension of his exile period.

The new place of exile was Thermo Trichonida in Aetolia-Acarnania. Finally, on December 19, 1971, he was released, although the surveillance by the junta's authorities would continue uninterrupted until it stopped on July 20, 1974.
