Summary The knowledge of the topics related to the key areas of child development and adaptation is an important prerequisite for the proper support of children by school psychologists and all other significant adults in children's lives.
The purpose of this book is to connect theory and practical application, presenting modern theoretical approaches to key issues in school psychology, exemplary prevention and intervention programs, as well as counseling support guidelines based on current developments. Topics related to the adaptation and support of various groups of students (e.g., students with chronic illness, students who have experienced loss, students from families facing divorce or adoption, etc.) are also presented, aiming for the positive development and school adaptation of all students.
Finally, examples of educational actions, prevention, and interventions from the Research and Application Center for School Psychology at the University of Athens are presented.
