«[. . .] The communicative approach considers the compatibility of the teaching method with the natural way of language acquisition as a self-evident prerequisite for the effectiveness of language teaching. To put it more simply, if the native speaker acquires their language through a specific physiological process, then the teaching method cannot ignore this process, but must respect it and appropriately leverage it to accelerate the natural pace and manner of acquisition [. . .]».
In this work, the author attempts to present the basic theoretical and methodological principles as well as the corresponding teaching techniques of the communicative model adapted, as much as possible, to the contemporary Greek school reality, since the broader developments inevitably lead the Greek education to gradually adopt an increasingly communicative approach to teaching the language subject.
