Engaging with the Natural Sciences as a human endeavor evokes admiration and inspires interest in young children. Significant developments in science change the way we view our world and how we perceive our environment.
Preschool-aged children are capable of forming elements of scientific concepts while simultaneously developing basic concepts of understanding science. Learning about the Natural Sciences is not confined to the classroom but also develops outside the typical school setting, in nature.
Children enter the educational system with initial alternative ideas and interpretations for various phenomena that they will be taught. Designing learning activities that involve exploring the natural world by young children poses a significant challenge.
This collective volume aims to systematically showcase the diversity of teaching Natural Sciences at the preschool age. Through its four parts, across the 19 chapters by 40 authors in total, it seeks to continue the dialogue about the teaching path of Natural Sciences to young children, highlighting the challenges and prospects that lie ahead.
