The Eurocode 3 has been the regulation for the preparation of structural design studies for steel buildings since January 1996. This volume contains 63 application examples according to this regulation and its appendices.

The examples cover various topics, including: actions and their combinations on structures, strength checks for sections and members subjected to tension, compression, bending, shear, and combinations thereof; checks for members under flexural, lateral, and torsional buckling; checks for the out-of-plane distortion of beam webs; analysis of frames, trusses, and wind-resisting connections; analysis and check of composite columns; analysis and check of welded and bolted connections; supports for columns.

For better alignment with Eurocode 3, the solutions to the examples are accompanied by references to the corresponding paragraphs and equations of the regulation. In cases where the text of the regulation presents ambiguities, interpretative comments and observations are provided.
