Description

Description

The War History of Modern Greece is primarily a reading of national consciousness, clearly presenting our adventurous journey towards national completion.

Avoiding common exaggerations, the historians who sign this three-volume work record not only the heroism and self-sacrifice but also the mistakes that marked the struggles of the Greeks in the 20th century.

After the definitive burial of the Great Idea, Greece is called upon to rise to the titanic task of rehabilitating 1,500,000 refugees from the Asia Minor Catastrophe. Meanwhile, hopes for peace in Europe are dashed with the rise of fascism.

The Greek Nation fiercely resists the advance of the German and Italian hordes, adding another golden page to its glorious military history.

However, in the end, our army retreats and reorganizes, playing a decisive role in the fight against the Axis powers outside Greece.

Our country is tested by harsh occupation, but the conquerors quickly find themselves facing a vigorous national resistance that deals them serious blows.

Wherever I stand, I remember. One race, one name. Greeks.
