Is a book the best way to discover and choose a hobby?
Yes! It is!
And before you start rattling off arguments about the videos and tutorials you can find by pressing just a few buttons on your phone, let me explain to you why and how a leisure book has the advantage!
So, briefly, clearly, and without wasting time, I’m here to tell you the reasons!
- The book contains text, of course, which you can refer to at any time. At the same time, the written description helps the brain to understand the process and instructions more easily and effectively. This happens because the human brain is accustomed to acquiring knowledge through reading.
- It includes a step-by-step description of the process, usually combined with images, and all this without needing to constantly pause or lose your place, go back and forth, and all those things you have surely experienced when the source is digital.
- The book itself can be the hobby! Think, for example, of coloring or craft books. Or puzzle books, riddle books, crossword books, escape books and generally books whose content is a hobby in itself!
- Due to their nature, and basically because they contain text, books very often give you new ideas that you hadn't even thought of, either related to the hobby you're interested in, or tips that will make it even more interesting. Or feasible. Or easy... depending on what you're looking for each time.
- Many times there is information about the hobby itself, maybe some historical background or a fun fact, which makes the activity even funkier and more fun!
- You can share their content with your friends, without having to squeeze around a phone screen, missing details and information.
Discover books for your leisure time
So what does that mean? You might ask. In order to start a new hobby, do I also have to start reading? I never said such a thing! (Although reading could be a hobby in itself, but that's another discussion!) I just mentioned some things that would be good to know before you decide!
Of course, there are also things or features you won't find in a book. For example, new trends or maybe which colors are in fashion this year for you to choose, or which material is more durable this season for a project you want to make. However, these are reasons to enhance your reading experience with some form of online search. Not to replace it.
After all, as we've already said, the book clearly prevails and now you know why!
