Academic ethics is a research field that aims to highlight, understand, and address ethical issues related to higher education. Moral philosophy provides the broader conceptual framework and methodological tools for approaching the problems that arise. However, their successful handling requires both broader interdisciplinary collaboration and consultation, as well as the willingness of the wider academic community. In this collective volume, in addition to the general significance of moral philosophy for improving the functioning and quality of higher education, specific issues are discussed, such as the evaluation of student performance, sexual harassment, academic freedom of expression, religious freedom in the university space, conflicts of interest in the exercise of academic roles, and the reevaluation of evaluative neutrality in the social sciences.
