The difference in 7 Wonders: Duel is that - as the title suggests - the game is for two players. Very nice game! I got it yesterday and I have already tried 3 rounds and I highly recommend it. It has a strategic depth and sets up relatively quickly. Maybe I will get bored of it quickly, I don't know, but for now I really like it. It's like a condensed version of its big brother that is played with many people (although I have only played this one electronically).
The only drawback I have found is how the rules are written, it took us a while to understand what was happening, not because they are difficult but because of how the booklet is set up. So it requires a little effort there or maybe you can find an explanatory video on the internet.
The components and cards are well-made with nice artwork, and only a few times did my father have a little difficulty seeing some symbols, so if you play it with older people they might have a small issue there, but overall I think everything is readable.
I also consider it quite accessible and it was one of the few games that I managed to get my father to play with me and enjoy it.
I think you will get a lot of enjoyment if you try it, but again, it's relative.
