Unfortunately, every time under 3D load, ~500w measured with a wattmeter, (9900k/rtx3080/1440p@144hz) it made a continuous "bzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" that could be heard from 3 meters away from the PC... it's called coil whine, but up to a point it's normal, not to sound like a power pole! Dismantled it, put the AX860 back in, and 0 noise.
I took it back to the store for RMA; I should have just thrown it in the trash, where 90% of Corsair products should end up, and the next one was the same! Switched again to HX1000, still the same! Returned it again and got a credit. If you search on Google, there are countless problems with coil whine in all Corsair products, especially those made by CWT for them. The AX860 I had was Seasonic rebranded, which is probably why it had no issues.
The reviews show how cheap the deep Chinese-Taiwanese production constructions are for the rm/rmx/rmi/hx/hxi series, as they are full of glue inside the coils and capacitors to prevent this. Also, what's the point of putting silent fans, hybrid operation, and the power supplies screaming like power transformers under load? WHAT REALLY? Unless all the workers who make them are deaf and can't hear them...
Stay away from the entire Corsair rm/rmx/rmi/hx/hxi series, unless you are deaf.
To avoid rambling too much since I could write a novel about Corsair and what I have changed, I finally bought a power supply from a serious manufacturer, the Super Flower Leadex Gold 1600w (the same as the EVGA Supernova g2 1600w) from a foreign store and 0 noise (just like my old AX860), as well as no trace of glue inside!
