If the state draws the meaning of life from a formal historical knowledge, the official political education, which is based on this knowledge, transforms man, and especially the young man, into a violent, insecure, ungrateful, and neurotic being. Then the creative instinct degenerates completely, and life collapses internally.
Nietzsche seeks redemption from such an epistemological and ontological deadlock primarily in Greek and Roman antiquity, and more specifically in what from this humanistic tradition does not kill him. What does not kill him? The god Dionysus. He embodies the intoxicating liberation of the human individual from the funeral lament of the oppressed and despised creature.
He is the symbol-god, who stands in opposition to the lifeless and unrefined god of the "rational" powers - both political and cultural - of modern Europe.
