Description & Specifications

The O-III Super-G 9 nm 1¼″ filter is used for visual observation and imaging of nebulae that emit doubly ionized oxygen, such as planetary nebulae and supernova remnants. Its 9 nm FWHM bandwidth darkens the sky background, while its 97% transmission at 500.7 nm allows nearly all the light from the O-III line to pass through. Its coatings are optimized for CMOS sensors and limit the transmission of unwanted wavelengths around the O-III line, as well as the Hβ line.

Suitable for imaging with DSLRs and one-shot color astronomy cameras, it can be used with telescopes with focal ratios from f/1.8 to f/12. As an alternative to a standard green RGB filter, it brings out nebulae more clearly, while stars appear dimmer.

  • Diameter: 1¼″
  • FWHM bandwidth: 9 nm
  • Transmission at 500.7 nm: 97%
  • Telescope focal ratio: f/1.8 to f/12
  • Coatings: CMOS-optimized, Reflex-Blocker and Life-Coat
  • Additional features: Parfocal, polished, with blackened edges and an anti-reflection ring
