Savage Sword of Conan returns in this first-ever Omnibus reprinting! The greatest sword-and-sorcery magazine of all time hits full stride with these classic tales. This volume features the never-before-reprinted Conan the Barbarian: Horn of Azoth original graphic novel, along with senses-shattering stories and art by a league of legendary creators.
Gerry Conway and Chuck Dixon take on the lion’s share of the writing in this collection, joined by artistic luminaries Jorge Zaffino, a young Andy Kubert, Michael Docherty, Ernie Chan, and more.
An Omnibus full of firsts! This collection reprints Conan the Barbarian: Horn of Azoth for the first time. Originally written for the screen as Conan the Destroyer, the plot of this book ended up so different from what the movie eventually became that Roy Thomas and Gerry Conway decided to repurpose their original work into this original graphic novel. This collection also includes the first and only Conan the Barbarian work by legendary Argentinian artist Jorge Zaffino, in the story titled “The Horned God.”
This 840+ page tome sees Charles “Chuck” Dixon and Gerry Conway taking on the bulk of the writing duties. They are joined by a grand group of artists, including Andy Kubert, Michael Docherty, Ernie Chan, Gary Kwapisz, Jorge Zaffino, and Tony DeZuniga, to name just a few.
This collection includes an assortment of covers featuring work by Joe Jusko, Dorian Vallejo, and Earl Norem, as well as a section of rarely seen bonus material.
Collecting: Savage Sword of Conan (1974) #159–171 and Conan the Barbarian: The Horn of Azoth graphic novel (1990), Marvel Graphic Novel #59.
