The cast-iron construction retains heat for even cooking and browning, while the close-fitting lid helps retain moisture. The interior has an enamel coating that makes cleaning easier.

It is suitable for stews, roasts, soups and baking. For cooking, gradual heating over low to medium heat is recommended, along with the use of wooden or heat-resistant plastic utensils. Allow the pot to cool before cleaning. Stuck-on residue can be loosened by soaking it in warm, soapy water for 15–20 minutes.
