Arkham Horror RPG: Welcome to Promise is a starter set for the Arkham Horror roleplaying game, introducing you to a Lovecraftian horror adventure filled with secrets, investigations, and consequential choices.
Published by Edge Studio in collaboration with Fantasy Flight Games, this set transforms the world of Arkham Horror into an interactive narrative experience. Players take on the roles of investigators facing unknown forces and inexplicable events.
A mystery that begins with amnesia
The adventure begins in the town of Promise, where the investigators wake up injured, with no clear memories of what happened to them. As they explore the town and interact with its residents, the characters discover clues, documents, and secrets that gradually reveal the true nature of the mystery.
Learn the rules as you play
Welcome to Promise uses a learn-as-you-play system, so you can start playing without first studying a complex rulebook. The adventure guide introduces the rules step by step, while additional rules can be looked up separately as needed.
Dynamic D6 System: A dice-based game system
Arkham Horror RPG uses the Dynamic D6 System (DPS), in which actions are resolved using six-sided dice. Players build a dice pool based on the action they are attempting.
An adventure with physical components and real clues
Welcome to Promise emphasizes immersion with maps, letters, documents, and physical clues that can be examined during play. These components make the investigation a tactile, narrative experience, allowing players to uncover the mystery not only through the story but also by interacting with the included materials.
Survival comes at a cost
During the adventure, investigators may acquire items, injuries, and traumas that affect future events. Every choice can change the course of the story. The goal is not only to solve the mystery but also to ensure the characters’ physical and mental survival.
A complete campaign for your group
The starter set includes an adventure divided into successive scenes that lead the investigators toward the truth about Promise. Designed for 1 Game Master and up to 5 players, it is suitable both for newcomers to roleplaying games and for Arkham Horror fans looking for a new experience in this universe.
