The Sinotimer AFDD1-63 B10 is a multifunctional protective device for single-phase electrical installations, combining arc fault detection (AFDD), overload protection, short-circuit protection, and residual-current/earth-leakage protection in a single unit.
Arc fault detection is particularly important, as arcs may occur due to: a) loose connections, b) damaged cables, c) deteriorated insulation, or d) faulty electrical contacts, and can cause fires.
The B10 model has a rated current of 10A, a Type B tripping characteristic, a residual-current sensitivity of 30mA, and a breaking capacity of 6000A.
Built-in Protection- AFDD – arc fault detection – detects dangerous electrical arcs and interrupts the power supply.
- Overload protection – disconnects the circuit when the current exceeds the permitted values.
- Short-circuit protection – rapid disconnection in the event of a short circuit.
- Residual-current/earth-leakage protection – 30mA – helps protect the installation and its users.

ApplicationsThe Sinotimer AFDD1-63 can be used to protect electrical circuits in:
- Residential properties
- Apartments and houses
- Cabins
- Offices
- Commercial premises
- Socket circuits
- Lighting circuits
- Electrical panels
- Circuits with increased risk due to conductor or electrical connection faults
A conventional circuit breaker primarily protects against overloads and short circuits. However, a dangerous arc may occur without the current being high enough to trigger thermal-magnetic protection. AFDD functionality analyses the electrical behaviour of the circuit to detect abnormal arcs and can interrupt the power supply when a dangerous condition is detected.
TEST FunctionThe TEST button allows periodic verification of the protection system's operation. Tests should be carried out according to the manufacturer's instructions, with the device properly powered.
WarningThe device must be installed, inspected, and replaced by qualified/authorised personnel. The power supply must be disconnected before any work is carried out on the electrical panel. The B10 / 10A rating must be selected according to the conductor, circuit, load, and design of the electrical installation. The AFDD does not replace the proper sizing and installation of the electrical system.
