Sparaxis tricolor (also known as Harlequin Flower) is a multicolored and easy-to-grow bulb. It originates from South Africa. The indication 4/5 refers to the circumference of the bulb in centimeters, which is the typical size for this species. Each flower is star- or funnel-shaped and has three distinct colors: the outer petals in vibrant shades (orange, bright red, pink, purple, or yellow), a bright yellow center, and a dark brown or black ring.

It develops slender, elegant stems with sword-shaped green leaves reaching a height of 25-40 centimeters. It blooms in mid to late spring (April - May) and is a perennial plant. It propagates by creating new small bulbs in the soil.

It is planted in autumn (from September to December) and can be grown in shallow pots, window boxes, rock gardens, or in dense groups in the garden. It requires full sunlight and light soil with good drainage. The bulbs are planted about 5 centimeters deep with the pointed side up, leaving a distance of 5-8 centimeters between them. It is recommended to plant at least 15-20 bulbs together for a rich bouquet of colors.
