The Kokuyo Harinacs Compact Alpha staples paper without staples. Instead of a metal fastener, it cuts a small slit in the paper and binds the sheets through it. It requires no refills, and documents can be recycled without removing any metal. The transparent body lets you see the mechanism. It can be operated either by pressing with your thumb or by gripping the lever.
- Staples without metal fasteners or refills
- Capacity of approximately 5 sheets of 64 gsm copy paper
- Staples in one spot, at the corner or along the side
- Marking guide for easier corner stapling
- Arrow-shaped blade creates a slit that is difficult to open
- Window at the slit location opens to remove paper scraps
- String hole
- Body and lever made from recycled polycarbonate containing 50% recycled material
- Available in red and black
Its grip is not the same as that of a conventional stapler with metal staples. Depending on the type and thickness of the paper, it may bind fewer sheets and hold them less firmly—for example, with thermal paper or carbonless forms. Stapling leaves a slit in the paper.
