The Yamaha RS02CB Chris Buck Signature Revstar Honey Gold is a double-cutaway solid-body electric guitar designed to Chris Buck’s exact specifications. Its body is made of solid mahogany with internal acoustic chambers for optimal resonance and reduced weight, and is topped with solid maple. The three-piece mahogany set neck, reinforced with carbon fiber, has a satin finish and is paired with a 12-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard and 22 jumbo stainless steel frets. The electronics combine a custom single-coil pickup in the neck position and a custom mini-humbucker in the bridge position, controlled by a 3-way selector and a passive Focus Switch filter. The hardware includes a Tune-O-Matic bridge, a stopbar tailpiece, and die-cast tuners.

Chambered Mahogany Construction, Maple Cap & Acoustic Design

The guitar body follows Revstar design philosophy, crafted from solid mahogany (Mahogany) paired with a maple top (Maple Top). Yamaha’s Acoustic Design process uses carefully calculated cavities inside the mahogany (Chambered Body) to reduce overall weight, improve the instrument’s balance, and enhance low- and mid-frequency response. The maple top adds rigidity to the striking surface, ensuring a fast attack and clarity in the high frequencies. The glossy polyurethane finish in Honey Gold protects the wood from environmental fluctuations while allowing the harmonics to resonate freely.

Set-Neck Neck with Carbon Reinforcement & Stainless Steel Frets

The neck is made of 3-piece mahogany (3-Piece Mahogany) and incorporates internal carbon reinforcement rods (Carbon Reinforcement), providing increased structural rigidity and resistance to warping caused by changes in temperature and humidity. The Set-Neck joint with a sculpted heel ensures direct vibration transfer to the body and comfortable access to the upper frets on the 24.75" (628 mm) scale. The rosewood fingerboard (Rosewood) has a 12" (305 mm) radius and features 22 Jumbo frets made of stainless steel (Stainless Steel), which prevent mechanical wear from string friction, ensure stable intonation, and provide a smooth feel when bending strings.

Custom Electronics Chris Buck, Focus Switch & Hardware

The electronics follow Chris Buck’s signature combination, consisting of a custom neck-position Single-Coil pickup for warm, clear lows with dynamic articulation and a custom bridge-position Mini-Humbucker for focused mids without unwanted hum. The tone control incorporates the passive Focus Switch filter (push-pull operation), which uses a passive transformer to boost the low-mid frequencies and round off the highs, simulating the response of overwound pickups. The hardware setup includes a Tune-O-Matic bridge with a Stopbar tailpiece and Die-Cast tuning machines, providing precise intonation adjustment and tuning stability.
