The round ceramic casserole dish has curved walls and a ceramic interior coating. It is suitable for slow cooking with little liquid, allowing the ingredients to cook in their own juices, while the even heat distribution helps them become tender without drying out.

It can be used in traditional ovens, wood-fired ovens, built-in ovens, gas ovens, electric ovens and microwaves, as well as in fireplaces, wood-burning stoves and over an open flame. It must not be used on an electric hob or placed empty over a fire. Before the first five uses, soak it in water for 45 minutes. For the first 7–8 washes, use hot water and baking soda; it is not suitable for dishwashers or concentrated detergents. Avoid sudden temperature changes and dry it thoroughly before storage.
