The ATD drag features washers impregnated with a new special grease that optimizes the drag’s energy efficiency. This high-quality grease offers greater grip at startup and provides a more consistent, progressive drag. As a result, the risk of breakage during the fight is minimized thanks to the more precise response of the ATD drag, which adapts to every phase of the battle: it engages faster and more gradually at the start and offers better control in the heart of the fight. 

It automatically adapts to the different constraints in each phase of the fight, hence its name Automatic Tournament Drag. With Daiwa ATD drag, be ready for calmer, better-controlled fights. The tightening of the drag knob is more precise, and the internal spool base fits the shaft better to eliminate play when the drag is released.

The result of LT technology is the construction of Daiwa reels that feature lower weight, smaller dimensions, but significantly more power. The combination of a compact body and greater power in the gear transmission (Digigear) allows the reel to withstand heavy loads without problems in operation or body distortion. LT design ensures that all mechanical parts are fully protected from distortion and work together so that the reel delivers great power both at the handle and in the drag system. Especially when turning the handle, you will not feel pressure, while the power produced by the reel will be inversely proportional.

It limits the reverse movement of the crank handle… to zero for better hook sets without jolting the reel mechanism and without releasing even the slightest amount of fishing line.

This technology is an evolution of "Digigear" that allows precise machining of the control wheel, providing it with a superior contact surface in order to increase the durability and fluidity of the mechanics.

In one phrase, the Twist Buster technology reduces the friction of the line on the roller and minimizes "twisting." Daiwa applies this technology as a solution to the "twisting" caused in the line during long casts in two ways: It "forces" the line to shoot out in a specific direction, at a specific angle to the roller. Additionally, the Rollers manufactured with Twin Buster technology feature a special cone, which forces the line to "twist" during retrieval, in the opposite direction of the twist created by the spool with its movement.

The unique reverse cone design on Daiwa's rollers results in fewer line twists and tangles, as well as longer casts. They also feature a larger size compared to other rollers, resulting in higher retrieval speed and better brake performance.

Some reels are supplied with a spare spool. Most are identical to the original, but they may have a different material or size.
