The Wharfedale Heritage Denton 1S are 2-way passive bookshelf/standmount speakers designed for high-fidelity Hi-Fi stereo listening. Part of Wharfedale’s Heritage anniversary series, they combine classic styling with modern acoustic engineering technologies. They feature a 5-inch (130 mm) mid-bass driver with a woven synthetic Kevlar cone, delivering fast response, rigidity and low distortion. High frequencies are reproduced by a 1-inch (25 mm) silk-dome tweeter with a high-flux ferrite magnet system. The cabinet is made from variable-density wood and features a bass-reflex design with dual rear tuning ports, along with gold-plated dual binding posts that support bi-wiring and bi-amping.

The Wharfedale Heritage Denton 1S features a 5-inch (130 mm) mid/bass driver with a woven synthetic Kevlar cone. The cone is housed in a robust die-cast aluminium chassis, ensuring stability and rigidity during large excursions. The low-loss rubber surround, combined with a specially designed voice coil, delivers fast transient response, transparent vocal reproduction and extended bass response down to 40Hz.

Silk Dome Tweeter & Crossover Design

To reproduce high frequencies up to 24 kHz, the speaker uses a 1-inch (25 mm) silk-dome tweeter. The tweeter features a high-flux ferrite magnet system and a rear damping chamber that absorbs unwanted reflections. The crossover uses air-core inductors and high-precision polypropylene capacitors, ensuring smooth phase integration between the two transducers.

Cabinet Design, Bass Reflex & Bi-Wiring Connections

The Denton 1S cabinet uses a sandwich construction made from woods of different densities to eliminate internal standing waves and cabinet coloration. Dual Bass-Reflex ports are built into the rear for optimum low-frequency response. The exterior is finished in natural veneer in a Blue shade, while the rear features dual gold-plated connection terminals that support Bi-Wiring or Bi-Amping.
