It plugs into the USB port used for wired connectivity and, after the initial pairing, connects to your phone automatically every time you start the car. It uses Bluetooth 5.3 for pairing and 5.8 GHz Wi-Fi for data transmission.

It works only with cars that have factory-installed wired Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. You can continue to use the touchscreen and steering wheel buttons, as well as the factory rotary controller where supported. The adapter supports OTA software updates and features LED lighting.
