    Bought from a reputable store with the agreement that if I didn’t like it I would have the option to return it for a refund, since Marshall didn’t have it available for listening in the store. Brand-new model, but still... So the positives are the very good build quality and quite powerful volume. Very good stereo image because the tweeters face outward. Good bass and generally fast. And in terms of detail it did well because the tweeters played loudly and clearly. Well, that’s where the good things end! I listen only to Metal, which has lots of electric guitars, so full midrange frequencies. After testing it thoroughly for two days, I saw that in all productions (in 80% of Metal tracks) the midrange frequencies were very irritating and very loud. Very harsh! As if they were constantly scratching the speaker! And a little muddy too. Just a little though. Even with the EQ and setting the mids low, it was piercing my ears! When my wife played House and generally pop music or beats, where there are very few midrange frequencies in that music, the speaker was perfect! It really delivered! But since it didn’t play Metal well, it was returned. I got my money back. I had the Acton 3 before. Very balanced across all frequencies and I’d say impressive, but it had issues with the stereo image. It was as if one channel sounded with an echo on some recordings. After searching, I saw that others also had a problem with the Acton’s stereo image. The Stanmore 4, however, had a very good stereo image, but come on guys, we buy Marshall to listen to Metal on a portable speaker. So if Marshall also got it so wrong, then no company can reproduce electric guitars properly.
