Description & Specifications

I translated/rendered the Orphic Hymns using isosyllabism, as I have done in all my translations of ancient dramatic works. Precisely because I believe that the quantitative proximity between the verse being translated and the verse of the translation-rendering guaranteed by isosyllabism can preserve whatever can be preserved of the internal rhythm of the original.

In the second part of the book, the Orphic Hymns are presented each on a separate page, and on the facing page is the isosyllabic translation – naturally with the same number of lines.

The third part of the book is dedicated to a long "confession" by Orpheus about his double complaint or double repression, as "he himself" tells us, referring to the influence of Dionysian worship and his own religion on humanity.

Following this, the Theatrical Work titled "Orpheus – Dionysus – Theatre" (One-act play – Monologue) is presented.
