Getting into the rotation groove, I decided to get this particular pair as a second pair for easy and long runs. And that’s exactly what it is. If I had to describe it “poetically”: You know when you wake up relaxed on a Sunday morning, the sun starts coming in through the window, and you put the coffee on? That’s exactly what this is like. It’s a soft shoe, super lightweight, incredibly comfortable! and extremely stable. From the very first run—which is always when shoes are a bit stiffer, until they mold to your foot, etc.—I didn’t feel the slightest discomfort! You put them on and literally start racking up the kilometers! And that’s exactly what they’re designed for: either an easy recovery run or long runs; at a steady pace, you start covering the distance. They have a pleasant bounce, I didn’t feel my legs struggling anywhere, and generally it’s fun how comfortably you can run in these. Note: they’re not for intervals and tempo runs, at least not for me. I tried picking up the pace and felt I had to push quite hard to get below 5:40 min/km. I had no problem doing that in a comparable fast shoe, but the Triumph 24 isn’t made for speed so much as comfort—and it really excels at that. I was also impressed by how well the upper breathes; that was a pleasant surprise. In conclusion, if you want a shoe for easy runs and long distances, go for it without a second thought. It might give you a hard time during interval sessions. Happy running!
