CYNKAL is an acrylic primer-coating designed for painting steel, galvanized surfaces, cast iron, and light metals (such as aluminum, copper, brass). It is based on an acrylic copolymer modified with adhesion promoters and has high adhesion to all substrate types. It contains next-generation corrosion inhibitors that chemically bind corrosion products, providing excellent corrosion resistance.
CYNKAL contains small amounts of alcohols and their derivatives, which facilitate the penetration of the paint into corrosion products. It bonds naturally and chemically with rust and metal substrates. It is very resistant to low temperatures, corrosion, and UV radiation. It maintains color durability and does not contain chromium or lead compounds. CYNKAL spreads easily.
Purpose:
CYNKAL is intended for painting clean (e.g., after sandblasting) or partially clean elements that have been corroded made of steel, cast iron, galvanized steel, and light metals (aluminum, copper, brass, etc.). After drying and bonding with the substrate, the first layer forms an excellent base for subsequent CYNKAL layers or other solvent-based and chemically curing paints and fillers.
Applying 2-4 layers of CYNKAL provides corrosion protection and an aesthetic finishing layer.
Like most acrylic binders, CYNKAL can also be used on wood, concrete, fiber cement, and other porous substrates. It is mainly used as a primer-coating but can also function as a corrosion primer under other paints or as a coating for renewing existing coatings.
For moderate protection, a minimum dry film thickness of 150 microns is required. For long-term protection, the coating thickness should be increased.
CYNKAL is mainly used where technical or economic reasons prevent extensive surface preparation by sandblasting, or when mechanically treated surfaces still retain partially adhered corrosion products and old coatings. It provides measurable economic benefits by reducing the need for extensive mechanical or chemical surface preparation before painting.
Like most paints, CYNKAL is resistant to temperatures up to 200°C; however, discoloration of the coating may occur. The addition of reactive cross-linking resins increases the hardness of the coating and prevents the appearance of spots at temperatures of 130-140°C.
