History and Plant Morphology: Louiza (Aloysia citrodora) is a perennial, aromatic plant originating from South America. It was introduced to Europe in the 17th century and named in honor of Maria Louisa, princess of Parma. The plant is known for the intense lemon scent emitted by its leaves, which are thin, elongated, and bright green in color. It is traditionally used in cooking and in the preparation of infusions.
