Vertical Blinds - Vertical Shades
A characteristic of vertical blinds is that they are ideal for applications with great height.
When the window has a recess:
- We measure the full width inside the recess and subtract a small gap from each side of 0.5-1cm, or more if necessary (e.g., a hole for cables).
- We measure the full height inside the recess and subtract from the bottom side (practically as much gap as we want), but usually this ranges from 2-3cm, so the blinds or the chain connecting them do not touch the bottom.
These are the final dimensions needed for the manufacturing of the vertical blinds.
For a simple window:
- To the width of the window, add 5-10cm on each side to always have sufficient overlap.
- To the height of the window, add 5-10cm to the top part to install the blind supports.
- At the bottom of the window, add as much as desired. Usually, this amounts to 5-10cm. If there is an obstacle (e.g., radiator), it must be taken into account.
If you have an inward-opening window and you do not want the blinds, when gathered to one side, to interfere with the window opening, calculate additional width from that side, so that the blinds gather on the side of the window from the outside.
The same rules apply to balcony doors as to simple windows, with one difference: From the total height (i.e., the height of the balcony door plus 10-15cm at the top for the supports), subtract 2-3cm from the bottom to prevent the blinds from touching the floor.
Blind Direction
- As a rule, the blinds are gathered on the opposite side where the window handle is located.
- On the same side, the control mechanism is installed.
