What is Sea Buckthorn?

Sea buckthorn, also known as immortal berry, is the fruit of the shrub Hippophae rhamnoides. It grows in Europe and Asia and is distinguished by bright orange, small berries that form dense clusters on the branches. The fruit has a rich sour taste with a slight astringency, making it distinctive and suitable for syrups, juices, and concentrates. It is less commonly consumed fresh due to its strong acidity, but processing balances the flavor. Sea buckthorn is known for its rich nutritional content, containing natural vitamins such as vitamin C and vitamin E, as well as carotenoids that give it its characteristic orange color. The berries also contain organic acids and plant oils.
