CYNKAL is an acrylic primer varnish designed for painting surfaces made of steel, galvanized steel, cast iron, and light metals (such as aluminum, copper, brass). CYNKAL is based on acrylic copolymer and has been modified with adhesion enhancers, offering excellent adhesion to all types of substrates. It contains next-generation corrosion inhibitors that chemically bind corrosion products, providing the paint with excellent corrosion resistance.
CYNKAL is highly resistant to low temperatures, corrosion, and UV radiation. It maintains color durability and contains no chromium or lead compounds. It is easy to apply.
Purpose: CYNKAL is intended for painting clean (e.g., after sandblasting) or partially clean corroded elements made of steel, cast iron, galvanized steel, and light metals. After drying and bonding with the substrate, the first layer functions as an excellent primer for subsequent layers of CYNKAL or other varnishes and fillers.
Applying 2-4 layers of CYNKAL provides corrosion protection and an aesthetic final surface. CYNKAL can also be used on wood, concrete, cement fibers, and other porous substrates. Although mainly used as a primer varnish, it can also be used as an anti-corrosion primer under other paints or as a varnish for renewing existing coatings.
For moderate protection, a minimum dry film thickness of 150 microns is required. For long-term protection, the coating thickness should be increased.
CYNKAL is mainly used where technical or economic reasons prevent full surface preparation by sandblasting, or when partially adhered corrosion products and old coatings remain after mechanical surface treatment. It offers measurable economic benefits by reducing the need for extensive surface preparation before painting.
Like most paints, CYNKAL is resistant to temperatures up to 200°C, although discoloration of the coating may occur. The addition of reactive crosslinking resins increases the hardness of the coating and prevents the formation of lines at temperatures between 130-140°C.
