Description

Fire resistant silicone for temperatures up to 1200 °C

Ceresit CS 38 is an inorganic-based sealant with special thickening additives that dries by water evaporation, forming a solid seal or providing crack-free adhesion with high heat resistance. Special formula for joints exposed to slight vibrations and temperatures up to 1200 °C.

  • Creates a strong and heat-resistant seal/adhesion with a convex shape, resistant to extreme temperatures up to 1200 °C
  • Flame resistant, good adhesion on common construction surfaces
  • Does not shrink, dries without a sticky surface
  • Does not emit fumes, painting allowed

Areas of application:

  • Filling cracks in ovens
  • Sealing joints exposed to flame
  • Sealing and installation of fire-resistant bricks
  • Fixing fire-resistant panels
  • Chimneys and flues
  • Sealing and bonding for: stoves, boilers, ovens, chimneys, and grills
  • Gas outlet ducts

Usage instructions:

  • Surface preparation: All surfaces must be solid, dry, and clean, free from dust, grease, and anything that could affect adhesion.
  • For highly absorbent surfaces, slight moisture improves adhesion.
  • The product is ready to use and can be applied directly from the cartridge with a standard pneumatic or manual gun.
  • Cut the tip of the cartridge cap above the thread, screw on the plastic nozzle, and cut it at an angle to the desired size. Insert the cartridge into the gun and fill the joint or crack in the substrate, ensuring that the product makes full contact with the sides of the joint/substrate without leaving air pockets.
  • Smooth with a spatula where needed before the sealing material dries.
  • Allow the sealing material to dry for at least 2 days before gradually and slowly increasing the temperature to avoid blistering.
  • Drying may require more than 72 hours under certain conditions.
  • Avoid prolonged moisture exposure of the dry product.

General information:

Surfaces must be clean, dry, solid, and free of oils, fats, dust, and loose particles. Oil or fat residues should be cleaned with acetone, alcohol, isopropanol, or special cleaners. The product is suitable for various construction materials such as:

  • Concrete
  • Wall
  • Fire-resistant brick
  • Glass
  • Iron
  • Steel
  • Galvanized steel
  • Carbonized aluminum

Storage:

12 months from the production date if stored in closed original cartridges, in a dry place protected from direct sunlight, at temperatures between +5 °C and +25 °C.
