Description & Specifications

This book examines the fundamental concepts of signal processing and system analysis for continuous and discrete time in a simple, accessible, and understandable manner. Special emphasis is placed on an intuitive interpretation of the topics presented, complemented by the necessary mathematical rigor.

Differential equations and difference equations play a dominant role, along with Fourier analysis theory in continuous and discrete time, Laplace and Z-transformations, frequency response analysis of continuous and discrete-time systems, and their implementations with diagrams. Each chapter of the book is guided by problems and requirements arising from the previous lessons, creating a flow that helps the reader develop their reasoning and engineering skills.

The book contains numerous helpful images and diagrams and includes over 400 carefully selected solved examples. Additionally, the reader can find a significant number of exercises to solve (more than 800 in total, with many new additions in this edition) at the end of each chapter.

Finally, the theory is supported by selected implementations in the Python programming language on a dedicated website online.
