ESAB OK Tigrod 308L rods offer excellent overall corrosion resistance, making them ideal for demanding applications. The low carbon content (Low C) reduces the risk of intergranular corrosion, ensuring reliable welding in environments with high humidity and chemical exposure.
Ideal for various industrial applications, ESAB OK Tigrod 308L rods are mainly used:
- In the chemical and food industry.
- For welding pipes, pipelines, and boilers.
- For welding 18% Cr - 8% Ni stainless steels with low carbon content.
- For Nb-stabilized steels of the same category, provided the operating temperature does not exceed 350°C.
- For welding chromium steels, except in environments with a high sulfur content.
Mechanical properties of the welded metal:
- Yield strength: 480 MPa (70 ksi).
- Tensile strength: 610 MPa (88.5 ksi).
- Elongation: 36%.
Typical impact strength properties (Charpy V-Notch):
- At 20°C (68°F), the impact strength is 170 J (125 ft-lb).
- At -80°C (-112°F), the impact strength is 135 J (99.5 ft-lb).
- At -196°C (-321°F), the impact strength is 80 J (59 ft-lb).
Chemical composition of the welded metal:
- Main elements: 19% Cr – 9% Ni – Low C (austenitic type with ~8% ferrite).
- Alloying elements: Mn 1.8%, Si 0.4%, Mo 0.1%, Cu 0.1%, N 0.07%.
Certifications & Standards:
