Description

The ESAB OK 48.00 electrode is the ideal choice for welding carbon and manganese steels, as well as fine-grained manganese steels with high leak resistance. With crack-resistant weld deposits and excellent performance under difficult pressure conditions, it is a reliable solution for every demanding application.

The special low moisture absorption coating ensures high-quality welds, while the low diffusible hydrogen (<3 ml/100g) reduces the risk of cold cracking. OK 48.00 offers excellent weldability in vertical positions, increasing productivity, while the high-quality appearance of the welds highlights its top-tier quality.

  • H4 R Approval for resistance in demanding conditions.
  • Minimal diffusible hydrogen for maximum protection against cold cracks.
  • Low moisture absorption to maintain consistently high weld quality.
  • High efficiency that enhances productivity.
  • Excellent weldability in vertical positions.
  • Unparalleled weld appearance for top results.

ESAB's VacPac technology eliminates the need for precise storage under controlled climatic conditions, providing ready-to-use electrodes from the packaging. The low moisture levels in the welding electrodes are vital for preventing hydrogen-induced cracks in thick structural steel plates.

VacPac electrodes are sealed in multilayer aluminum foil and protected by an internal high-strength plastic container. This design ensures moisture protection and allows unlimited shelf life, without the need for specialized storage conditions. The electrodes remain fresh and ready to use as soon as the packaging is opened and the vacuum is verified.

VacPac electrodes are designed for minimal re-absorption of moisture, with a safe exposure time of up to 12 hours after opening under normal conditions. For maximum safety, it is recommended to remove only the necessary electrode each time.

  • Absolutely hermetic packaging.
  • Always fresh and dry electrodes.
  • Cost savings through simplified management and storage.
  • Reduced risk of cracks or porosity caused by hydrogen.
  • Easy to carry by the welder.
  • Custom package sizes for every shift.
