The ED696 irrigation controller independently controls two zones, with separate settings for each outlet. The schedule allows watering durations from 1 minute to 3 hours and 59 minutes, and watering intervals of 1 to 12 hours or 1 to 7 days. The rain delay function postpones watering for 24, 48 or 72 hours, while manual start does not change the saved settings.

The LCD displays the time in 12- or 24-hour format, and settings are adjusted using a selector and buttons. It has a built-in filter and operates at water pressures from 0.5 to 8 bar.
