This dedication is reflected in the manufacturing process, offering a rare level of detail. For the Laureate, Alvarez hand-sands the braces, which are cut from Sitka spruce and chosen for their straight, fine-grained quality, enhancing overall response and vibration.

The Laureate series uses the finest silky Sitka spruces, allowing Alvarez to sand them to a slightly thinner thickness for increased response. The back and side plates are made from hand-selected African mahogany.

The sanding and finishing process has been improved to achieve a flawless, deep shine with the thinnest lacquer ever achieved. The bridges, fingerboards, and headstock plates are cut from the finest African ebony, affecting articulation, clarity, and note separation.

Ebony components work in harmony with other premium elements, offering a clear and powerful voice. The quality of ebony pairs beautifully with rare blue abalone inlays, creating a luxurious yet understated feel. The Laureate is a traditional guitar series, with body shapes based on guitars from the late 1800s to the 1930s.
